Beautiful Sausalito

27 Oct
Finally back in SF after a long waiting for delayed flight. The next day, my sis and I went to Sausalito. Actually I wanted to call off the trip, but she encouraged me.. and I didn’t regert!! Thanks sis!!! LOL…
——-
Sausalito is a beautiful coastal city near SF. We took a ferry to go there and along the way, we could see my fav bridge, Bay Bridge from afar. I like this bridge more than GG Bridge bcuz whenever I came back after visiting  my friend in other part of the  bridge, I could always see the skyline of SF. And at that moment I felt… Ahhh, home sweet home. Also, when we passed the bridge, we could the hanging metal strings of the bridge. It was really cool!!! I wish I can take the pic!
——
Anw, back to Sausalito… I liked taking  ferry trip. Anything about boat, sailing boats, ocean and wind.. I LOVE IT!!! However, this was one of those tiring day (again.. sigh) Since we planned to eat in this Jap restaurant, SUSHI RAN. We asked people and then we walked, and walked, walked.. (never trust when people said it was only 2 block away, you could see it, ten minutes away, bla bla bla…) You pretty much need to google it first to estimate how long and how much energy you will need.
——
Yes, and we walked until finally we found it!!! BUT… the place was C.L.O.S.E.D… Aaarrrgghhhh. This was the second time that it happened to me (The first time was also a sushi restaurant but in SF.. and there would be the last one by the same restaurant)
——
So, it only opened for dinner.. Sadly, we walked back to the street and decided to get a bus. We thought the bus fare would cost less than $2. but we were so shocked when we put our ‘clipper’ card, it said $5… Then we asked around and thought carefully.. Maybe this was not a local bus.. maybe this was a city transfer bus (SF-Sausalito) It turned out we were right.. So we still could get off and get on later to go back to SF.
——
Well, that was one good thing.. so we didn’t have to walk to the ferry place.. Though I was planning to take more pictures of the Ferry Building. Oh well…
We got off at this Italian Restaurant, Poggio (you can view their web here) cause they were listed as Top 100 restaurant. As usual, I was either too HUNGRY or excited that I didn’t take any pic when I eat.. LOL.. sorry.. But I’ve browsed some pic. You can read the restaurant review at Food Nut (they also have SUSHI RAN.. Mann,, their food looks yummy!!) And thanks to ash2276 and italy in SF for their pictures.
——
We had two main course (i think the pasta was taglietelle and meat loaf ) The portion was super generous that we decided we only ate one course and saved the other one for my lunch tomorrow.
——
My sis actually loved their bread and butter (the butter was poggio homemade) It was very delicious!! I guess everything happened for a reason.. Otherwise, we would never try Poggio. Their dessert also won some awards, but we were too full to try it.
——
Overall, it was a good day and good trip. Though tired, we enjoyed the day. Thanks again sis hahaha…!!! Anw, here are some shots.. Hope u like it!!!
——
(PS: This is actually my 2nd time writing all of this.. since the first one, I deleted it by mistake.. *sigh* even after the trip, this ‘sausalito’ post still makes me tired…LOL. But I’m glad that I can finish my second time hahaha.. I just got to share this one with you all… )

Sausalito… my future house location (huahahahah)
According to Fengshui, it’s good to have a house ‘sitting on a mountain, looking at the ocean’ Well in my opinion, of course it’s good.. Cause if you already have this house, you must be very wealthy. Houses this type cost a lot of fortune!
SF Skyline… That’s Transamerica Building.. the tallest one
My sis’s masterpiece.. a pic near a trash can.. LOL
I love this one.. Pretty.. This was where we tried to find SUSHI RAN
Poggio’s delicious bread and butter

Washington Square & Dessert Truck, New York

25 Oct

This was my last night in New York. And I had great time! Especially I got a sumptuous dessert treats from my friend.. One of the best dessert I’ve ever had!!! Thank you!!! And one of them was GOAT CHEESECAKE!!! Some of you mite feel yucky.. But trust me (as I trust my friend when she said it’s really delicious..) It is really DELICIOUS.. BELLISIMO!! You should definitely try it!

I apologize first since I don’t take the pictures.. Somehow, for most of the food that I ate I didn’t take any shots. Maybe I was already too hungry or excited that I forgot… Hahahha… However, I’ve browse the web and found some great shots.. Provided by Tina Wong.

We also had Warm Molten Chocolate Cake and Warm Chocolate Bread Pudding with Bacon Sauce.. And yes, Bacon Sauce. Want to know their other products, visit Dessert Truck here.

I think our favourite was goat cheesecake, followed by bread pudding, if I’m not mistaken. Then the last one was Molten cake (which is pretty much the same with chocolate lava cake–if you’ve ever eaten one) It costs $6 each. Quite expensive, but worth the price.

Other than that, on my last night I took pics of Washington Square, which was the location where my friend and her family lived. It’s a nice landmark, resembling the famous Arc de Triomphe in France. Anyway, enjoy these shots especially the desserts hahahahhaa…..

looks delicious huh?? hahahha…

this is the truck… we bought it at nite.. you can see my own pix at the bottom of this post.. Since it was dark, I couldn’t take nice shots
And here is Washington Square at night…

This one supposed to be the Chrysler Building hahaha…

There is this street performer. When you sit/stand inside the arch, the sound quality is much better. I like how the lights resulted in these pics.

Ahh this one is a special pic for my friend, Yan.. Yes.. it’s a GYM Yan, very upscale GYM.. hahahaha.. I was in awe tooo.. and wondering if their equipment made of gold hahhaa…

I kept telling myself, I’ve seen this place in movie, but I couldn’t remember.. Anyone?

My own dessert truck pic.. LOL

This is a different pic. It was inside NY airport, where a BIG misfortune happened to me. I got delayed for 8 hours (waiting inside the airplane for 3 hours) However, I fulfilled my dream to eat/drink in a pub-style bar. I ate an unexpectedly very good tender grilled chicken here (which again I forgot to take pic) I don’t even remember the restaurant name hahah.. Maybe I was too eager to relax outside the aircraft hahaha…

All about NEW YORK (1) everyday’s life

21 Oct

New York is a very dynamic city. People walk and walk and walk… (sigh) Since it’s a big melting pot city, New York has many different atmospheres, depends on where you are going to. My favourite part would be the West Village and Gramercy. Plus Time Square and 5th Avenue, not too forget.

I’ve seen more people from other continents here, unlike any of other American cities which make New York more interesting (as was told by my New Yorker friend, Mika).. She and her husband Josh also said that most people came to New York to be successful (I think that’s pretty much the same like the city where I came from, Jakarta)

However, there are some laid back people and areas too… Like I said, it depends which place you are travelling to.

Here are some shots of the daily life. It mite not tell everything about it, but you can get a sneak peek to what are they doing during weekdays. Also, actually there are so many beautiful women in New York.. Unfortunately, I was too shy to take their pix.. (^^) So, maybe someday you can come and experience it by yourselves! ENJOY!!

All about NEW YORK (1) buildings

21 Oct

New York is a very picturesque city. Every corner is a good subject for taking pictures. No wonder there are so many photographers use New York as their subjects. Here are some shots that I took. I really enjoyed their nice architecture… especially when there’s artwork set in the middle of the buildings…

Eataly Cafe! Love this!

19 Oct

Most of my New York visited places are out of plan.. So did this one. I didn’t even know this supermarket/gelato/restaurant exists. Thank to my friend, Rosita, who said that this new place was owned by famous chef Mario Battaglia and seems to be a nice place.. (I hope that’s the right name).. Since I was around the neighbourhood, so I dropped in.

The name was Eataly—combination of Eat and Italy. It was pretty cool. I like it.. (especially I am a big fan of Italian food) It’s like a big Italian traditional  market, but you can also sit to enjoy some food, buy breads, eat some gelato. The place consists lots of stuffs. And… they have good gelato!!! Personally, I don’t like gelato.. But when I tried their gelato.. I fell in love with it.. especially with the HAZELNUT flavour.. It’s a must eat flavour.. LOVE IT!!! I ordered two scoops with Hazelnut and choco flavour  (which was far than enough)

I also enjoy their interior’s industrial feel combined with a modern rustic Italian market. If I ever go back to NY, this is another place that I would love to go to plus to try their cheese selection. They have a good location too on 5th Avenue.. and as you can see, there’s  a huge crowd coming here.. Well.. they are the new-kids-on-the-block. Hope they will be around for long time…

One thing I love from NY is their upscale and trendy supermarkets! Besides Eataly, they also have Dean & Deluca, Gourmet Garage (which I found my fav drink—but can’t find it at any other places) etc. I do think supermarket should be part of your need to go places. Trust me, you won’t regret it!!!

i like this cute trolley!!

CHEESEEEEEEE

believe it or not.. these cakes start at $7.. one of the most expensive ones..

yummy truffles..
