Special post: eat n love (friends n food..)

20 Dec
One of the main purpose of my visit was to meet my friends!!! We haven’t seen each other more than 7 years, so it was thrill that I managed to see them all. Too bad, some of them I didn’t get chance to take picture with. But thanks to all of them, I had a great trip!!! Wish to see you guys again one day…YEY!

Deep thanks to (in no particular order… *.*)

San Francisco:
Brenda, John, Elizabeth & William
Aline & Masa, Cindy & hubby
New York:
Mika, Josh & Kai

DESIGNERS GATHERING.. We had a great design conversation besides a great dinner at Village Yokocho, New York. First time my friend, Mika and I fell in love with radish sprout. We had this amazing boiled tako served with it and it tasted so delicious that I still have a crave of it until today.. LOL.. Plus I finally ate one of my favourite dishes, enoki and beef. YEY!

This pic was taken at Cha House, a Japanese Tea House. Very nice place. Though I had a funny experience. Since the place was very dim light, when I went to the bathroom, I was shocked by the automatic toilet that could open its lid by itself. For a moment, I really thought there was a ghost or human inside. ROFL…..Other than that, the place was fabulous…

This was taken from google search — Village Yokocho, Lower East Side, New York.

This next one was my last night in NY. So Mika, Josh and Kai took me to a nice italian restaurant… which I forgot the name… LOL

Little cute and adorable Kai!!…
Kai never liked to be taken pictures by anyone else, except his parents. But I managed to take this good shot!! YEYYY….
Kai had admirer instantly, as you can see.
This two pics were taken by Mika. The restaurant has great outdoor details!
Kai, taken by Mama Mika….
Calamari appetizer. We all loved the dried leaves… SOOO MUCHH…
Cheese balls.. forgot the real menu name.. hehehe..
I loved that little jacket. It certainly made Kai more handsome…
Mika and Josh…
The restaurant table. It will be perfect for your date!

Last night in San Francisco… Sushi with Mama Brenda

We were so happy to see this generous portion from Shimo Sushi (recommended by Aline.. Tx we really enjoyed it!) We were so full that we had trouble when we need to run to catch our bus… hahahhaa… Luckily we managed to catch it… The sashimi was the most generous portion I’ve ever eaten in my whole life with decent price too.

Mama Brenda and me..
I stole these pics from Mama Brenda’s archive.. These are her lovely Korean children..
Twin Peaks with Aline and Masa
On our last meeting, we had a great lunch at Hotei Japanese Restaurant, a relaxing stroll along Irving area. After that, we went to Twin Peaks. Believe or not, though I used to live in SF for some time, but that was my first time been there… So thanks to both of them, I could ‘cross out’ Twin Peaks from my need-to-go list.
Sweet couple Masa & Aline

North beach stores…

Still in the north beach area.. They have many interesting and lovely stores here.. One of them is Crown & Crumpet.. I love it.. Their design is like a small tea house.. Very cute, girly and chic!!! Any little girl will love to come here…

North Beach

1 Nov
Back in SF, I’m happy to see that blue sky, green grass and bright sunlight… (most of the days that I visited here, the sun was a little too bright…hick3 ) But wherever you go, especially if there’s a small crowd resting and relaxing, you somehow can feel the warmth.
So did this place, North Beach. I came here before.. but never explore much. And it turned out to be a lovely place, perfect for lazying or simply people watching. If you are an ocean type person, but feels that ocean is too far, you can come here instead. It also has small sand and water area. The air smells the same too. Plus, you can also get the beautiful view of the lush green field. And some queuing up tourists hahaha.. Some of them are cute though..
love this view a lot!!!
I love this pic series.. Never took this kind of pictures before..
ehmm.. pse don’t tell the girl i took this pic.. LOL
You can also view GG Bridge from here..
just relax and enjoy the breeze…
nice combination of 2 of my fav things… green field and ocean!!

Golden Gate Bridge viewed from North Beach

Believe it or not, this is teh first time I’ve been to this area.. It turned out that you could get magnificent view from here. I loved it so much!! Especially the time that I went there was almost dawn (or dusk??) so the sky colour was super nice.. Here are some pic. And tell me what you think..!!

This one is my fav!! Love the colour result!!
This one.. I feel like I’m taking  a postcard pic.. LOL
Ohhh.. love this view so much!!! I feel that I can jump right into the ocean.. hahhaa.. but someone pse save me..

Beautiful Sausalito

27 Oct
Finally back in SF after a long waiting for delayed flight. The next day, my sis and I went to Sausalito. Actually I wanted to call off the trip, but she encouraged me.. and I didn’t regert!! Thanks sis!!! LOL…
Sausalito is a beautiful coastal city near SF. We took a ferry to go there and along the way, we could see my fav bridge, Bay Bridge from afar. I like this bridge more than GG Bridge bcuz whenever I came back after visiting  my friend in other part of the  bridge, I could always see the skyline of SF. And at that moment I felt… Ahhh, home sweet home. Also, when we passed the bridge, we could the hanging metal strings of the bridge. It was really cool!!! I wish I can take the pic!
Anw, back to Sausalito… I liked taking  ferry trip. Anything about boat, sailing boats, ocean and wind.. I LOVE IT!!! However, this was one of those tiring day (again.. sigh) Since we planned to eat in this Jap restaurant, SUSHI RAN. We asked people and then we walked, and walked, walked.. (never trust when people said it was only 2 block away, you could see it, ten minutes away, bla bla bla…) You pretty much need to google it first to estimate how long and how much energy you will need.
Yes, and we walked until finally we found it!!! BUT… the place was C.L.O.S.E.D… Aaarrrgghhhh. This was the second time that it happened to me (The first time was also a sushi restaurant but in SF.. and there would be the last one by the same restaurant)
So, it only opened for dinner.. Sadly, we walked back to the street and decided to get a bus. We thought the bus fare would cost less than $2. but we were so shocked when we put our ‘clipper’ card, it said $5… Then we asked around and thought carefully.. Maybe this was not a local bus.. maybe this was a city transfer bus (SF-Sausalito) It turned out we were right.. So we still could get off and get on later to go back to SF.
Well, that was one good thing.. so we didn’t have to walk to the ferry place.. Though I was planning to take more pictures of the Ferry Building. Oh well…
We got off at this Italian Restaurant, Poggio (you can view their web here) cause they were listed as Top 100 restaurant. As usual, I was either too HUNGRY or excited that I didn’t take any pic when I eat.. LOL.. sorry.. But I’ve browsed some pic. You can read the restaurant review at Food Nut (they also have SUSHI RAN.. Mann,, their food looks yummy!!) And thanks to ash2276 and italy in SF for their pictures.
We had two main course (i think the pasta was taglietelle and meat loaf ) The portion was super generous that we decided we only ate one course and saved the other one for my lunch tomorrow.
My sis actually loved their bread and butter (the butter was poggio homemade) It was very delicious!! I guess everything happened for a reason.. Otherwise, we would never try Poggio. Their dessert also won some awards, but we were too full to try it.
Overall, it was a good day and good trip. Though tired, we enjoyed the day. Thanks again sis hahaha…!!! Anw, here are some shots.. Hope u like it!!!
(PS: This is actually my 2nd time writing all of this.. since the first one, I deleted it by mistake.. *sigh* even after the trip, this ‘sausalito’ post still makes me tired…LOL. But I’m glad that I can finish my second time hahaha.. I just got to share this one with you all… )

Sausalito… my future house location (huahahahah)
According to Fengshui, it’s good to have a house ‘sitting on a mountain, looking at the ocean’ Well in my opinion, of course it’s good.. Cause if you already have this house, you must be very wealthy. Houses this type cost a lot of fortune!
SF Skyline… That’s Transamerica Building.. the tallest one
My sis’s masterpiece.. a pic near a trash can.. LOL
I love this one.. Pretty.. This was where we tried to find SUSHI RAN
Poggio’s delicious bread and butter

Washington Square & Dessert Truck, New York

25 Oct

This was my last night in New York. And I had great time! Especially I got a sumptuous dessert treats from my friend.. One of the best dessert I’ve ever had!!! Thank you!!! And one of them was GOAT CHEESECAKE!!! Some of you mite feel yucky.. But trust me (as I trust my friend when she said it’s really delicious..) It is really DELICIOUS.. BELLISIMO!! You should definitely try it!

I apologize first since I don’t take the pictures.. Somehow, for most of the food that I ate I didn’t take any shots. Maybe I was already too hungry or excited that I forgot… Hahahha… However, I’ve browse the web and found some great shots.. Provided by Tina Wong.

We also had Warm Molten Chocolate Cake and Warm Chocolate Bread Pudding with Bacon Sauce.. And yes, Bacon Sauce. Want to know their other products, visit Dessert Truck here.

I think our favourite was goat cheesecake, followed by bread pudding, if I’m not mistaken. Then the last one was Molten cake (which is pretty much the same with chocolate lava cake–if you’ve ever eaten one) It costs $6 each. Quite expensive, but worth the price.

Other than that, on my last night I took pics of Washington Square, which was the location where my friend and her family lived. It’s a nice landmark, resembling the famous Arc de Triomphe in France. Anyway, enjoy these shots especially the desserts hahahahhaa…..

chocolate bread pudding

chocolate molten cake

the inside of molten cake.. slurrppp

looks delicious huh?? hahahha…

this is the truck… we bought it at nite.. you can see my own pix at the bottom of this post.. Since it was dark, I couldn’t take nice shots
And here is Washington Square at night…

This one supposed to be the Chrysler Building hahaha…

There is this street performer. When you sit/stand inside the arch, the sound quality is much better. I like how the lights resulted in these pics.

Ahh this one is a special pic for my friend, Yan.. Yes.. it’s a GYM Yan, very upscale GYM.. hahahaha.. I was in awe tooo.. and wondering if their equipment made of gold hahhaa…

I kept telling myself, I’ve seen this place in movie, but I couldn’t remember.. Anyone?

My own dessert truck pic.. LOL

This is a different pic. It was inside NY airport, where a BIG misfortune happened to me. I got delayed for 8 hours (waiting inside the airplane for 3 hours) However, I fulfilled my dream to eat/drink in a pub-style bar. I ate an unexpectedly very good tender grilled chicken here (which again I forgot to take pic) I don’t even remember the restaurant name hahah.. Maybe I was too eager to relax outside the aircraft hahaha…
